Ho’oponopono: The ancient Hawaiian practice of forgiveness.

Hello brothers and sisters. It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? It matters not ultimately. As I have simply been hibernating and preparing for what I need to do. It’s over now however, and we shall begin anew. I hope you’ve all been well, wherever you may be.

Illness (both mental and physical) is more rampant in the 21st century than it ever has been before in any point in “recorded” Human history.

Throughout the western world, hospitals are full of ill patients, whose bodies have seemingly “given up on them”, or so they have been told. Their doctors tell them that there is nothing within their power that they can do to heal themselves, and so they must rely on the hospital (and unless you live in a country where medical healthcare is Universal, they must also incur a debt which in simply impossible to pay off, even if they were to have their health healed. This debt then is passed on to the children and “beneficiaries” (what a benefit to incur your grand kin’s financial debt) of those that were sick and may have happened to pass away, which then generates even more sickness in the generation of the indebted (as you can imagine, suddenly having to shoulder an enormous financial debt can be incredibly stressful and draining; if you guys didn’t happen to know, stress is one of the main contributors to illness in the western world, it’s sort of a vicious cycle- you work so hared to acquire money, prestige and all of that which you are conditioned to believe will make you truly happy, that it stresses you out and drains you of your vital energy. Then you have to spend your money (that you worked so hard for, after all) on various treatments and advice from people whom you believe will be your saving grace. Now your healthy again, or maybe the treatments didn’t work, and your drained still, but now not only of your own vital energy, but your financial currency as well. Yes, it’s a very vicious cycle. There are also many of us out there who have had a very difficult time in their life. There have been many dark nights for these individuals, and their “mental state” is fragmenting as each day passes. They go to the doctor, and say “I’m depressed, anxious etc.” and the doctor says, “I have just the solution for you my friend, here are some pills, we haven’t done a lot of research on them, but it will probably make you stop feeling those emotions” (and many others as well most of the time, from my own experience in my youth being put various forms of pills to deal with my own “ADHD”). So now these people are spending more energy (both mental and financial) on getting their medication. They don’t feel the emotions any longer, and they are able to get back to there day to day schedule (being able to hold down a 9-5, pay the bills, be social, even if it’s difficult and take care of the family if they happen to have one). However, the underlying illness is still there and without the medication, it becomes so apparent that the individuals who suffer from them may break down almost instantaneously.

This is a huge problem. It’s been getting worse and worse over the years, as pharmaceutical companies continue to push their “miracle pills” onto stressed out parents (who can’t handle everything going on in their lives) and energetic children (whose stressed out parents can’t handle them). Are we all meant to live day by day suffering from these illnesses, is there truly no way for us to simply come back to balance, naturally and affordably? Luckily for us all. There are solutions, and they’ve been here all along, passed down to us by our ancestors from all across the world.

There are many different practical solutions for us to tap into in order to regain our health and truly prosper in this ever changing world and I will be sharing every single one that I know of constantly on this page. However, the first that I would like to bring attention to is an ancient Hawaiian practice know as Ho’oponopono.

So what exactly is Ho’oponopono? Well the easiest way to describe it is “healing through forgiveness”. “What does this guy mean, healing through forgiveness?”, well my friends, allow me to expand; throughout our lifetimes we go through many different experiences, both positive and negative (that’s the beauty of living in a universe of duality, we get to experience every single bit of it!). These emotions and experiences tend to stick to us. We begin to believe that these define who we are, and our ego begins to cling to them for an identity, shall we say (both positive and negative). We begin to believe the negative experiences of our past hold us back continuously and define our future selves. We often forget that these experiences are nothing more than learning curves along the “game of life”, so that we may learn and grow from them, they are not punishments sent from the almighty heavens to punish us for our sins and to make us continue our suffering for eternity.

There is an incredible (and factual) story of how one Hawaiian therapist who cured an entire mental ward of criminally insane patients without ever speaking with or meeting any of them, using nothing more than Ho’oponopono. The therapist was Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. Dr Len went over each patients file and acknowledged their “illnesses” and took them on as if they were his own- then through following the Ho’oponopono technique (he actually developed an advanced version (SITH-Self I-Dentity through Ho’oponopono) he healed the entire psych ward, and began to teach his practices. Want to know more about Dr. Len, visit http://www.self-i-dentity-through-hooponopono.com/ or http://zero-wise.com/ (Dr. Len’s official website).

So how exactly do we begin practicing Ho’oponopono (Other people can do Ho’oponopono sessions for you, they require information however; if your interested please visit the Contact page on FragmentedIllusions.com)? Well the first step is to be honest with yourself. Acknowledge the negative memories of the past, write down everything it is that you are ready to face, and that has been holding you back for so long, acknowledge the pain and the negative memories and emotions as your past that you are prepared to move forward from. Once you have acknowledged that which is holding you back, now the time for healing can truly begin. Steady yourself and your mind, clear your mind and take in your negative past in which you are ready to heal. *(Note that brackets are statements where as the the others are the mantras in which you repeat). Now you can begin; the first mantra that is to be repeated to begin the healing is “I’M SORRY” (REPENTANCE); After all, you are responsible for all your thoughts and actions, so apologize to yourself for the mistakes of your past and accept them for what the truly are, lessons to learn from, nothing more. It’s only natural after all to feel remorse for the pain you have caused yourself (or others), so apologizing in the first step. The next step is to (ASK FORGIVENESS) “PLEASE FORGIVE ME”. After all, you are the only one who can forgive yourself! This is an integral part of the healing process, and you really need to mean it in order to achieve results, repeat this over and over again (as you do with all the mantras) until you truly mean it. The third mantra is to show (GRATITUDE) “THANK YOU”. Thank yourself for the healing you are beginning to initiate. Thank the universe (or GOD of your religion) for the healing and the opportunity to move on from the past. The final mantra (that should also be repeated first thing off to show that you care about this process) is to show (LOVE) “I LOVE YOU” to yourself, to everything (family, friends, breakthroughs, even your obstacles, show love to everything) and to really mean it. After all, you can’t truly love others (externally) if you don’t love yourself (internally) first. Say this mantra over and over again, after all, there is nothing more powerful than love in this entire Universe.

Alright brothers and sisters, that’s the practice of Ho’oponopono (the basics of it anyways) and I pray you use this new found information to your advantage<3. Any questions? Visit the contact page. There is much to do, you shall hear from me very soon.

If you enjoyed the article and it informed you, please take the time to share it with your family and friends, that’s what it is here for, to inform and appease.

Sending you Love through Light,

Fragmented Illusions (Brandon)
